Last night every ounce of self
esteem I had got temporarily snatched by Beyoncé and Teyana Taylor.
Teyana had a baby an hour ago and took 15 minutes to get a body people
have dreamed of their whole life. In case you missed it, she was the
focal point of Kanye's new Fade video (ps- she half naked so be careful opening at work) And Beyoncé, well.... she Beyoncéd.
That woman's talent is undeniable and her work ethic is something my
workaholic Capricorn heart is extremely envious of. I literally felt
like a lump of useless flesh watching them.
Then
after a glass (or two) of self loathing wine.... I got it together.
Cause they worked for what they got. They didn't sit on the couch
praying God instantly gratified with what they want.... Well maybe they
did but they still worked hard after. I remember a quote back in the day
saying "I don't wish. I pray. Because I got a GOD, not a genie". I
think sometimes we wish to God for specific things, instead of praying
for the attributes to help us achieve the goals we aim for. That's not
how any of this goes.... (trust me, I did the research lol)
And
please spare me the "Stop it girl. Don't worry about other people. "The
grass ain't always greener." "Blah blah blah". You know I am all here
for positivity, but I am also real. We are all human and no one is
perfect. Sometimes we need to embrace our feelings, come to terms with
them , and push through once the feeling passes. Ignoring feelings or
trying to smile and pretend you're perfect, is like ignoring a leaky
roof. It starts small and you may even be able to stop it with temporary
fixes, but eventually that leak is going to cause major, unavoidable,
and very visible damage (think about how when someone sees a person and
can tell they had a "rough life" based on their face. It shows!).
I also
had a tooth cavity analogy to put here but it went kinda left. Lol.
